“This looks like his son not Shiloh. Shiloh is a girl,” commented one user after seeing a new photo of Brad Pitt’s 17-year-old daughter during a recent outing.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, has been mistaken for a boy.

Fans of the Jolie-Pitt children have commented on how the young woman resembles a male.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt confirmed their daughter asked to be addressed with boys’ names when she was younger.

Although Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were among the most beloved Hollywood couples for many years, expanding their family by adopting and having children together, their union did not last.

However, they remain the proud parents of their six children, one of whom has caused controversy with how she dresses and what she asks to be called. The former couple’s eldest biological daughter, Shiloh, has been said to resemble a boy.

Through the years, the Jolie-Pitt children have often attended red-carpet events with their parents, each getting a chance to show off their unique style. Brad and Angelina have included Shiloh in these appearances, and she has changed her style many times.

Fans have seen the young woman in designer dresses and heels, with her long hair styled femininely, and have also seen her with short hair in stylish tuxedos and smart shoes.

Talking about how her daughter dresses for each of her appearances, Angelina confirmed she allowed her child to wear whatever she wanted, saying:

“I think children should wear what they want and express themselves, so we give them different options of things.”

Angelina said Shiloh’s freedom of choice also extended to her beauty routine. The young woman, who rocked a pixie cut for many years, was seen with long hair for the first time again in 2021.

After crying that she didn’t want long hair anymore in 2010, Angelina allowed her daughter to cut it short. However, in October 2021, Shiloh appeared on the red carpet alongside her mother and sister in one of Angelina’s Dior dresses and a pair of sneakers with her long hair tied back.

Why Was Shiloh Confused For A Boy?
While Shiloh donned long hair for a while, she has recently chopped it off again, sporting a fresh buzz cut reminiscent of her father’s hair in his early days in Hollywood. An Instagram picture of the two side by side with the same haircut garnered some strong reactions from fans.

Many people believed that the photo was not of Shiloh but instead showed her brother, Knox. Knox is Shiloh’s younger brother and another one of Brad and Angelina’s biological children, who recently had his birthday.

While there were many fans that believed the photo could not be Shiloh as “This looks like his son, not Shiloh. Shiloh is a girl,” there were other fans who were supportive of her new hairstyle, gushing:

“Handsome young Shiloh.”

Although fans were confused about whether or not it was Shiloh in the photos, several news publications confirmed it was the young woman who was out on a grocery run in LA when the photo was taken.

Shiloh wore an all-black sweatsuit and carried a bag of groceries as she made a solo grocery run in LA on July 25. She completed the look with Nike sneakers, and the outfit was reminiscent of something she had worn to dinner with her family in late June.

This is not the first time Shiloh has been seen rocking her buzzcut. She debuted the look in January this year on an outing in Los Angeles with her older sister, Zahara. Shiloh, who turned 17 in May, is said to love wearing hoodies and purchases most of her clothes from vintage stores.

What Does Shiloh Think About Her Gender?
Fans may be confused by Shiloh’s new look, but it is something Shiloh has been doing for a long time. In fact, it all started way back in 2008, just after her twin siblings Knox and Vivienne were born.

In 2008, Brad sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which he disclosed that Shiloh would answer to the names Peter or John. He shared:

“It’s a ‘Peter Pan’ thing, so we’ve got to call her John.”

Brad and Angelina supported their daughter when she asked them to address her with a boy’s name and also helped her when she decided she did not want to dress in feminine clothes.

In 2010, Angelina shared that her daughter wanted to dress like “a little dude.” The actress said she and Brad felt their daughter had a Montenegro style. She said that in Montenegro, people wore tracksuits and regular suits, which Shiloh also enjoyed wearing.

Angelina said that her daughter wanted to dress like a boy and be a boy, so they cut her hair short. The actress joked that Shiloh thought she was one of the brothers but that she had signs of being a performer.

While the public quickly became used to seeing Shiloh embracing Montenegro style, in 2021, she surprised fans when she dressed femininely and grew her hair out for a red carpet-appearance with her mother.

Abandoning her suit and tie style, Shiloh arrived at her mother’s various “Eternals” promotions wearing dresses, pumps, and styling her long hair in sleek buns or updos. She maintained this style for a while, embracing her femininity.

She wore dresses, pumps, and even a few jewelry pieces at the many premieres she attended with her siblings and their mother. Still, she always incorporated some of her unique styles, like wearing sneakers with her mother’s Dior dress.

However, it was only a short time before she returned to her most comfortable style. Her parents are proud of their daughter no matter how she dresses or cuts her hair, with a source close to Brad saying:

“Brad is so proud of Shiloh and who she has become; he loves that she always stays true to herself and is so good to her brothers and sisters.’”

Shiloh is back to her Montenegro style now, looking as chic as ever, and her parents are supportive of the young woman no matter what. Although she now responds to her given name, she still embraces her unique style every day.
